How did Aloisia Beauty come to be?

My career path was not what I had originally planned, but even though I didn’t see it at the time, it gave me the experience I needed to launch Aloisia Beauty. From marketing, product development, manufacturing, regulatory, wholesale distribution to owning a business with my husband, I learned so much along the way. Working with colleagues and manufacturers from South Korea over the years, I came to fall in love with the K-Beauty ritual. After trying so many different products, I was finally introduced to our current laboratory partner, and felt confident that we could build something unique. The business of skincare was completely new to me, so I knew we needed to build the right team.

I first thought of GG, who is my close friend and someone I thoroughly respect for her work ethic, business savvy, and pharmaceutical sales experience, and who I knew to be obsessed with skincare. I introduced her to the products that we were developing, and she was immediately hooked. We then reached out to Chrissy Kling and Nicole Levine, sisters and business owners who are both extremely talented branding and marketing experts. They also tested and fell in love with the sample products, and shared our desire to produce a clean skincare line based on Korean Beauty principles and innovation for consumers globally. The four of us launched Aloisia Beauty, and together with Jeff Konecke, who heads our operations, Kwang Choi, who is our team member in Korea and oversees our Quality Assurance, and our laboratory partner, we knew we had the perfect team!  -Veronica Konecke

How does your own cultural background influence your skincare?

Taking care of our skin has been ingrained in us since we were little girls! In Ecuador, our great-grandmother and grandma would actually hand make their own creams with ingredients like rose petals, eucalyptus, rosemary and Vaseline. As we have aged, seeing how beautifully-kept their skin was serves as a constant reminder of how important it is to take care of our skin. What speaks to us the most is the emphasis that this skincare method places on your natural skin barrier, which is the foundation for healthy, ageless, glowing skin! – Chrissy Kling

Why are good skincare habits so important?

Paying attention to your skin isn’t just about your appearance! It’s about creating healthy routines in your life that contribute to your overall wellbeing as a whole. The results are not just reflected in your complexion – there’s a glow that comes from within when you practice self-care. Whether I follow all 10-steps or just have time for an abbreviated version, not only does my skin look and feel amazing, but I feel more centered and relaxed. My skincare routine is something I look forward to every morning and evening, and it no longer feels like a “have-to.” – Nicole Levine

How does K-beauty remain both timeless and innovative?

Korean skincare is rich in traditions and ingredients that have been proven effective for centuries, but at the same time, it stays ahead of the curve thanks to modern science and novel formulations. It really unites the best of both worlds for a skincare method that’s equally effective and pampering. A– Veronica Konecke

What are your three favorite things about K-Beauty?

Personally, I love that the routine kicks-off with a double-cleanse: it not gives my face a thorough cleaning and maximizes the efficacy of the products I use in other steps, it also allows me to take a deep breath, wash away the end of my work day, and transition into my home life. I’m also a big fan of sheet-masking. I think it’s one of the best things K-Beauty brings to the table, because it allows me to enjoy a concentrated treatment while stealing away a little “me-time.” And, because K-Beauty is so focused on skin health, I love that there’s an emphasis on clean, high-quality ingredients. – GG Benitez

What’s up next for Aloisia Beauty?

Since we launched, our efforts have been focused on building our direct-to-consumer presence with the introduction of our sheet masks, followed by our cleansers, GLOW Exfoliating Soft Peel, and RESTORE Collagen Gel. In spite of being in an extremely crowded space, Aloisia Beauty has managed to build a community, and capture the attention of professional estheticians and make-up artists, and even celebrities because of the results we deliver. We have truly dedicated our hearts and souls to establishing our brand's reputation for clean, effective, and affordable skincare. In the coming year, we’re excited to introduce more new products developed to solve different skincare concerns and also incorporate into the 10 step K-Beauty ritual. – Veronica Konecke
